Om arbejdsgiveren

The International Max Planck Research School Physics and Medicine (IMPRS-PM) is a highly innovative new graduate program at the interface of physics and fundamental research in medicine.

IMPRS-PM is hosted by the Max-Planck Zentrum für Physik und Medizin (MPZPM), which is a joint research center run by the Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light (MPL), the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU) and the University Hospital Erlangen (UKER).

The focus of the combined master and doctoral program at MPZPM is on the study of cells in the context of their microenvironment, the space that connects and encompasses a variety of cell types in a tissue. The vision of scientists at MPZPM is to map and model the physical phenomena such as cellular forces or particle trajectories, charge and ion gradients, temperature distributions and link them to distinct biological functions. IMPRS-PM strives to educate and train a new generation of scientists with insight into both physics and medical research.
