We are now looking for a Senior Scientist, flexible and structural electronics to join our Flexible Electronics Integration team in Oulu

As a Senior Scientist, your key goals are contributing to flexible and structural electronics research projects and taking a leading role in publishing, dissemination, and tutoring younger researchers. You will have a proactive role in applying for national and international funding in collaboration with our team and your networks. You will also coordinate and manage different kinds of customer as well as jointly funded research project. The position is located in Oulu. 

Our team, Flexible Electronics Integration works on flexible and structural electronics integration technologies enabling novel solutions in wellness and healthcare, and other application areas. You will be on the edge of new technologies involving novel printed electronics processes including roll-to-roll prototyping, up-scaling and assembly. You will apply novel sustainable materials and product concepts for large area and flexible form factor electronics, including structurally integrated solutions. We offer a unique in-house competence from material formulation and process development with our Printocent Pilot Factory; from roll-to-roll production to multi-technological knowledge of applications and systems. As part of our team, you will work with globally leading universities, research institutes, and companies and you have a chance to make an impact in the application areas such as sustainable and structural electronics.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Scientist:

• Being a leading contributor in research projects including publishing and dissemination as well as IPR creation. As a senior researcher, you will also tutor younger researchers. 
• Pro-active role in identifying funding opportunities (national, international) in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders for projects that support our team’s goals, including sales activities in the customer interface.
• Project preparation, coordination, and management of various kinds of customer and jointly funded (such as EU) projects.

Who we are looking for:

• MSc or preferably PhD degree in electrical, material, or biomedical engineering, physics, or another relevant field.
• Proven experience (at least five years) in successful project preparation and management as well as working in the customer interface.
• Broad and demonstrated understanding of manufacturing and assembly & integration technologies and materials.
• Working experience or studies in printed, flexible/stretchable and/or structural electronics is considered as an asset.
• You have good cooperation and networking skills.
• Fluent written and oral communication in English.
