Description of the research activity:
The technologist will play a key role in establishing the advanced micro-characterization laboratory at NOI Techpark, focusing on the operation and optimization of the Field Emission Gun Scanning Electron Microscope (FEG-SEM). Key responsibilities include gathering requirements from researchers, assisting in equipment setup and calibration, and developing protocols for characterizing thin-film and nanostructured materials. He/she will also analyze data from the FEG-SEM and validate measurement methods for micro- and nano-contaminants. Documentation, training sessions for lab users, and collaboration with the Engineering faculty and local manufacturing companies are essential aspects of the role. Additionally, the technologist will ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality control measures, contributing to the lab's goal of fostering innovation and addressing environmental concerns.
