YOUR TASKS
- At least 70% of your assignment will be spent on academic research in the field of public health, specifically focusing on epidemiology and prevention of chronic diseases
- You will make a significant contribution to the development of the scientific strategic goals of the Epidemiology of Chronic Diseases unit
- You will be actively involved in drafting scientific and/or policy-related project proposals
- You will counsel doctoral students
- You will assist in teaching activities in the field of the Department of Public health and Primary Care at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level
- You will guide and evaluate students in the context of exercises, assignments, and master’s theses
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- You hold a doctoral degree in the domain of health sciences or in a related domain
- The degree requirement needs to be fulfilled at the start of your appointment. For diplomas awarded outside the European Union, a certificate of equivalence (NARIC) must be submitted
- You have conducted in-depth research in the field of public health and the epidemiology and prevention of chronic diseases
- You have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher during your doctoral work and can rely on a strong methodological knowledge
- You have published relevant scientific papers in international peer-reviewed academic journals that have wide circulation
- You have extensive expertise in statistical data analysis and software (R, SPSS, …)
- Your communication and teaching skills are commendable
- Your proficiency in both Dutch and English is excellent
WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU
- We offer you a temporary appointment of 3 years. A second appointment of up to 3 years can follow, subject to a favourable evaluation of the first term
- Even if you have already been appointed earlier (whether or not at another university and whether or not in the same field of discipline) in a first term of up to three years, you can apply
- The second appointment does not have to be immediately connected to a first term Your appointment will start on 1 September 2024 at the earliest
