Job description

Edge Intelligence refers to the deployment of artificial intelligence workloads with edge computing resources. Such systems are supposed to be the bulk deployments of future networked infrastructures allowing low-latency access and interaction with such AI models, while on the other hand comprising for instance the size of such models. Edge Intelligence, in particular leveraging large foundational models, are likely to become the major application class in future 6G networks when it comes to augmentation, autonomous systems as well as assistance.

Our research group is focusing on science paving the way for novel edge computing systems and applications, emphasizing challenges related to large AI models and collocated mobile networks. In this context we are seeking postdoc candidates with the ambition to lead research in the domain of Edge Intelligence. The position comprises, on the one hand, research on efficiently deploying and managing large AI models such as foundation models on edge computing infrastructures. On the other hand, this research is supposed to be driven with the upcoming architecture of 6G networks in mind. The position involves collaborations within our research group as well as with other research groups from different disciplines and universities. It will also comprise collaborations with industrial partners.
