Interested in urban mobility and working in an interdisciplinary team with close connection with stakeholders?

We are looking for a postdoc to join our team at the Division of Physical Resuorce Theory, Department of Environmental and Energy Sciences. Become a part of the team and contributing to research on current and future mobility service usage and attitudes among car and non-car owners.

About us

At the department of Environmental and Energy Sciences and the division of Physical Resource Theory we identify, analyse and describe the major sustainability challenges of our time, with the aim of developing models, tools and competitive technological solutions to support the transition in sectors such as energy, transport and heavy industry. Within a scientifically excellent environment, we develop new technologies, build knowledge and educate the engineers of the future who can contribute to a sustainable society in the long term. A significant part of our research also takes a systems perspective, focusing on the interaction between technology, society and the environment in order to develop resilient solutions for the future.

About the research project

Despite increasing research on car-free households, there is still a lack of understanding of how car owners and non-car owners differ in their mobility patterns, satisfaction, and use of mobility services such as car-sharing, cargo-bikes, and attitudes toward emerging technologies such as shared autonomous vehicles. This project addresses that gap through a mixed-method study combining survey data with in-depth interviews. An interdisciplinary approach, integrating systems and policy perspectives with behavioral psychology, will deepen the analysis.

  • It is highly meritorious if the doctoral degree has been obtained within the last three years prior to the application deadline

  • Statistical analysis of surveys
