Job Summary:

The Institute of Applied Physics at UM6P is seeking a highly qualified and motivated individual to join our faculty as an Assistant Professor specializing in Detectors Physics. This is a full-time and permanent position with responsibilities in research, teaching, and service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct silicon or 2D Materials detector development research, focusing on low-temperature amplifier design, low-noise signal processing, and FPGA readout systems.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses related to semiconductor devices, analog electronics, signal processing, and FPGA-based systems.
  • Mentored graduate students in research projects, guiding silicon detector design, low-temperature electronics, and FPGA implementation.
  • Collaborate with industry partners and academic institutions on research projects related to silicon detector technology and FPGA-based readout systems.
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at conferences to advance knowledge in the field.
  • Participate in departmental activities, including curriculum development, student advising, and academic committees.
  • Through continuous learning and professional development, you can stay updated on recent developments in silicon detector technology, low-temperature electronics, FPGA design, and related areas.
  • Contribute to the academic community through service activities, such as peer review, conference organization, and outreach initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Physics or a related field with a focus on Detectors Physics.
  • Demonstrated expertise and a strong research track record in Detectors Physics. 
  • Effective teaching skills and a commitment to fostering student learning.
  • Ability to secure research funding and a record of publishing in reputable journals. 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to participate in departmental and university service.
  • Postdoctoral experience. Experience with cutting-edge detector technologies.
  • Ability to establish research collaborations with industry or national laboratories. 
  • Experience in curriculum development and innovative teaching methods.
