Om arbejdsgiveren

The University of Applied Sciences Wildau is one of five universities of applied sciences in the federal state of Brandenburg. It is located very close to Germany's capital city, Berlin, which is easy to reach from Wildau by local train.

The University of Applied Sciences Wildau offers 14 degree programmes in direct study programmes, and 2 in distance learning programmes. As well as first-degree level university education, we also offer further education programmes in 4 more distance learning courses. The university is also active in applied research and development. We concentrate on direct contacts with business in both our teaching and applied research, and as a result our university has become a significant regional player and an important employer in the 13 years since it was founded. The last few years in particular have seen dynamic developments. In winter semester 2003/2004 we had 2,142 applicants, of which could only take 25% due to our limited capacity.

With 3200 students the University of Applied Sciences Wildau is the largest university of applied sciences in the state of Brandenburg. Wildau has an attractive range of degrees, and highlights applied research and development and technology transfer - the guarantee of up-to-date and state-of-the-art teaching and studies. External research and business income per professor has averaged € 55,800 per annum over the last three years, and has meant that the university has been able to employ 1.25 project-based staff per professor.

The modern and future-oriented range of degrees at our university includes courses in business, administration and engineering. We offer mechanical engineering, physics engineering, and process engineering and are the only university in Brandenburg to offer logistics, and the only university in the whole of Germany with a degree in telematics. We are also the only university of applied sciences in Germany with a degree in bioinformatics/biosystems engineering. We have recently introduced a new degree in aviation engineering/aviation logistics, a significant step in a region in which aviation will come to play an increasingly significant role in the economy. We also offer degrees in industrial engineering (also with facility management), business administration, business computing, business and law and administration and law and a new degree in European Management.

At our university there are a range of academic degrees students can gain: the full diploma degrees Diplomingenieur/in(FH) (engineering), Diplom-Betriebswirt/in(FH) (business studies), Diplom-Wirtschaftsinformatiker/in(FH) (business computing), Diplom-Wirtschaftsingenieur/in(FH) (industrial engineering), Diplom-Wirtschaftsjurist/in(FH) (business law) and Diplom-Verwaltungswirt/in(FH) (public administration) and in some courses bachelor's and master's degrees. We also have a master's degree in Photonics in cooperation with the University of Applied Sciences Brandenburg and the Technical University of Applied Sciences in Berlin.
